In order to preserve our Earth for future generations which do you think is more important, Conservation or Pollution Prevention?

-Give three examples to support your thoughts.

  1. I believe in order to protect our Earth, we need to focus more on pollution prevention. As we pollute our water and land, many people and creatures die. If we try to prevent pollution of habitats, we can in turn conserve the life and resources that live there. Also if we prevent more pollution from happening, we can lower the risk for acid rain, which will decrease architectural decay. This will protect monuments and structures for generations to come.

  2. hii aleck! Hey Mrs. Moss! well i think that conservation is more importanter because we got to save all of our stuff. If we dont conserve and run out of everything we will die

  3. It is a good thing Nick isn't getting a grade for this with that grammar and spelling....
I am very concerned about both, especially global environmental health after the devastating earthquake and tsunami in Japan, but it is difficult to decide if the eroding environmental quality or conservation is more important than each other. Resources are more limited than ever, if you doubt me, just ask someone how much more gasoline is than this time 5 years ago. I say we should get a handle on both and hope for the best! Great topic Alleck!

  4. I think at the moment we should focus are attention on both of the topics, I personally think we should focuss on conserving what we have because if we dont were not going to have alot of things we have today.

  5. I think that pollution prevention is more important than conservation. But we shouldn't just focus on pollution prevention we still need to focus on conservation. If we didn't care about pollution prevention some of our resources would become inuseable then we couldn't conserve them. That is why I think pollution prevention is more important.

  6. I think pollution prevention is much more important than conservation, because without the prevention we could lose the resoures we need. Without pollution prevention we would have polluted resources in which could not be conserved. Althought conservation is very important, pollution prevention can ruin things that could be conserved.

  7. When I think about this topic, I'm reminded of the quote that was on one of our worksheets that said something like "we don't inherit the Earth from our ancestors; instead we borrow it from our children." This is a great quote that shows how much we really need to take care of the Earth for the people that will live after us. In order to do this, both conservation and pollution prevention are key. If we don't conserve resources, our kids will have none to use but if we don't keep the earth clean they could suffer from side effects like global warming or catching diseases.

  8. I think we should divide out attention and focus equally on both topics because they are very important to our Earth. If resources arent conserved then future generations will have nothing to use and if we dont monitor how much we pollute the earth those generations will suffer the consequences.

  9. I think that conservation of our resources is mor important because without the resources we would not be able to survive. Even if there is a lot of pollution at least we will still be alive to fix it.

  10. We should do both, but if you prevent pollution more we will have to conserve less.

  11. I think we should worry about both things because if we let to much pollution out all of our environment would die. And on the other hand we need to conserve what we do have for the future to come.

  12. They are both very important, but personally I worry more about pollution prevention. I believe that we need to handle our resources carefully and we do not need to take them for granted. Pollution could ruin some of our resources forever, leaving us with major needs.

  13. I think that we need to conserve our resources more then we need to worry about pollution prevention. We have to conserve our resources because if we have no resources like wood, iron, and steel, our world will become so impossable to live in. Pollution prevention is still very important because if you have alot of pollution it is very unhealthy and it could cause acid rain.

  14. I believe that both factors are important to stay focused on to keep the Earth in good condition, although we should put all our attention on either one. I also think that it might be useful if we also put a third of our focus for this subject on each process and leave a third available for any other ways to preserve the earth for future generations, such as restoration to make the Earth be a little more likely to be useful in it's preserved state for future generations as well.

  15. I believe that Conservation would be more ideal in preserving our Earth. Even though pollution prevention is ideal, we cannot change what has happened. We must conserve what little we actually have now.

  16. If the water is contaminated, how are we supposed to eat fish without getting sick? They're probably contaminated too. How could we go swimming? If the air is polluted, wouldn't it be hard to breathe? I think pollution prevention is way more important because polluting the air and contaminating waters hurts not only our Earth, but everything living on it.

  17. Pollution is the key to preserve the earth for future generations. Sure conservation is to, but pollution plays a larger role in my eyes. The reason is because we breathe off of oxygen and it is steady getting polluted with a lot of fumes. Also we are not protecting our bodies of waters properly. When people go to the beach and other places, they tend to throw their trash into the water. Why would you do, that when i'm pretty sure there's a trashcan nearby? The answer to that is that the person is too lazy!

  18. I believe we should focus more on pollution prevention because it is a cause of global warming. Global warming itself is causing a lack of resources which only pushes conservation to be a major duty. Basically if we tackle pollution, then we can weaken global warming and be more convenient when conserving the available resources that the Earth has supplied us with.

  19. I believe that both topics are very important, but if I were to choose I would say conservation. We can say that we are working on preventing pollution all we want. It is until we learn to respect what we have, that we are able to move forward.
